What is your club about?
The Graduate Math Data Club helps MS students build essential skills for success in co-ops and future careers as data analysts, data scientists, data engineers, and related roles. We focus on practical coding, modeling, data mining, and analytical skills, while also supporting each other in the transition from coursework to professional work.
Structure
Coding Practice: Work on SQL and Python problems from LeetCode and other sources.
Project Sharing: Present experiences with data projects, Kaggle competitions, or other hands-on work.
Interview Prep: Discuss common technical questions from machine learning, linear algebra, statistics, and probability interviews.
Career Skills: Share strategies and experiences from job and co-op interviews.
Guest Speakers: Occasionally, we’ll invite industry professionals to give talks on real-world data applications.
New Skills: Explore tools from online platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, data engineering frameworks).
Community: Most importantly, the club is a space to connect socially, support each other, and have fun while learning.
